All this solar energy mumbo jumbo

What is the effect of using solar energy going to be on the environment?

The law of conservation of energy says that it must stay on the planet or be radiated back to space. If we are capturing it and then re-releasing it in the form of friction and movement, what kind of butterfly effect is it going to produce? Is a reduction in greenhouse gas going to allow satisfactory dissipation to occur or are we going to be a big planet of carpet shuffling shock monkeys?

We think it’s clean, and by today’s standards it most certainly is, but what is the long term cost? I’m sure Ford never foresaw the problems with an internal combustion engine. The horseless carriage was probably a welcome alternative to storing hay and oats and cleaning up horse shit.
