Survey Says:

Croyez-vous que les femmes peuvent se faire agresser sexuellement par leur mari, conjoint ou partenaire?

Which translates to:

Do you think women can be sexually assaulted by their husbands, spouse or partner?

The survey question seems to be quite leading. Why not leave it at "Do you think women can be sexually assaulted by their domestic partner?" By putting "male" as a variable in this equation we are further ingraining the male as a dominant player in society meant to be taken down a few rungs. Why are we not empowering women to achieve the same status. After all, it's not only the "husbands" who abuse. This I know first hand.

So on the flip side, do I think men can be sexually assaulted by their domestic partner? Yes. Sexual assault should be expanded to include acts where you place your monogamous partner's health at risk. Cheaters male or female open a vector for all manner of STIs, condom or not. A precedent has been set to charge people who willingly attempt to spread HIV, why not expand it to include people who willingly open the gates to everything?

Unwanted children born of an affair This is an abuse both to the partner and to the child/siblings of that child. It's illegal to smoke with your under aged child in the car, why should it be legal to introduce strife into your child's home or bring a child into that strife? Both will have long lasting health effects. The only difference being that tobacco has a target, the tobacco companies. No one advertises cheating on your partner. Or do we...

Some can say the above paragraph infringes on your basic human rights. Lets go over what the United Nations has outlined as basic rights to be provided to children:

Provision: Children have the right to an adequate standard of living, health care, education and services, and to play. These include a balanced diet, a warm bed to sleep in, and access to schooling.

Protection: Children have the right to protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination. This includes the right to safe places for children to play; constructive child rearing behavior, and acknowledgment of the evolving capacities of children.

Participation: Children have the right to participate in communities and have programs and services for themselves. This includes children's involvement in libraries and community programs, youth voice activities, and involving children as decision-makers.
In a perfect world no one will be subject to abuse and discrimination because they born of a different father or mother than their siblings. In our world this right of protection is infringed upon every day in every community in the world. All beginning with infidelity. In some developing nations the discrimination goes as far as an execution.

Perhaps society is not becoming progressive, but regressing to a pillar of salt waiting to happen.

Coding in Visual Studio 2008 for ASP.NET seems to be an easier way of
doing what I've been doing the last while using PHP.

It's like re-inventing the wheel by covering it with a tire. If only I
didn't spend the last thirty minutes looking for the frigging table
menu. You have to be in a design view Carney. Design view.

To make matters more confusing the book says "Design View or Split View". The table menu only shows up in Split View if you entered it from Design View.
